As Festival de Cannes celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year from 16- 27 May, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is delighted to announce the Inauguration Ceremony of the 60th Festival de Cannes Anniversary Exhibition STARWAY, Allˆme de stars and Cocktail Reception for Hong Kong Films, scheduled to take place 18 May!

The ceremony will inaugurate the showcase of thematic photos that captured the unforgettable moments for the past 60 years of Festival de Cannes, and followed by a cocktail reception organised by the HKTDC. Internationally renowned Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai has not only graced the Festival de Cannes 60th anniversary poster, but he will lead the red carpet on Opening Night as his latest film, My Blueberry Nights, is selected to open the festival on 16 May!

The first English film by Wong starring international music sensation Norah Jones and British heartthrob Jude Law, My Blueberry Nights will also be competing for the Palm d'Or alongside the world's top directors.

The Croisette will also see another Hong Kong film icon, as Maggie Cheung takes a seat on the international competition jury led by award-winning director Stephen Frears.
