The Hong Kong film industry is set to make their presence felt in the American Film Market, the largest market of its kind in North America, which is scheduled to take place in 2 - 9 Nov. 2005.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council will be hosting a reception at the AFM on 4 November at the Pacific Room of Le Merigot Hotel at 17:30 - 19:30. Two Hong Kong HAF Projects have been moving into production stage. HAF 2005 Project, McDull, The Alumni is also in production! Co-produced by Applause Pictures and Bliss Concepts Limited, and directed by Samson Chiu, this film will be a mixture of live-action actors walking side-by-side with the famous Hong Kong animation creation McDull.

Another Film, Dragon Tiger Gate is now in production. Produced by Mandarin Films, the film is partly funded by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority's (TELA) Film Guarantee Fund, and is directed by Wilson Yip with Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue amongst its cast. It is a live-action adaptation of a highly popular Hong Kong comic book with tales of good against evil.
