A
brand new edition of HAF, Asia's
first film project market of the
year, will once again take place
concurrently with FILMART from 20
¡V 22 March, 2006. As a pivotal co-production
market for Asian films, HAF has
featured many internationally renowned
and award winning filmmakers in
the past, and we are happy to announce
that HAF 2006 projects have been
selected! The twenty-five brand
new projects feature many award
winning directors from across Asia,
including Tsai Ming-liang (Taiwan),
Hur Jin-ho (South Korea), Nonzee
Nimibutr (Thailand), Zhang Yang
(Chinese mainland), Miike Takashi
(Japan) and Alireza Shojanoori (Iran).
Hong Kong filmmakers who will be
participating include Stanley Kwan,
Fruit Chan, Clara Law, Gordon Chan
and Yu Lik Wai.
Looking
back at last year's Forum, four
of the HAF 2005 projects have been
completed and three are currently
in production. Among those projects
having neared or completed production
are: MuDull, The Alumni
(Producer Peter Chan, Brian Tse;
Director Samson Chiu; Hong Kong)
is targeting a Lunar New Year release;
The Tin Mine (Producer Yongyoot
Thongkongtoon; Director Jira Maligool;
Thailand) which premiered at the
Pusan International Film Festival
2005 and was selected as Thailand's
official entry for the best foreign
language film category of the 2006
Academy Awards; Invisible Waves
(Producer Wouter Barendrecht; Director
Pen-ek Ratanaruang; Thailand) will
premiere at Berlinale 2006 in competition
for the Golden Bear; and Dragon
Tiger Gate (Producer Raymond
Wong; Director Wilson Yip; Hong
Kong) is targeting a summer 2006
release.

FILMART,
Asia's most significant film and entertainment market, is
set to return for four days on 20 - 23 March, 2006 for its
biggest year yet! Buyer pre-registration has now
begun and admission fee will be waived if you register on
or before 18 February, 2006.

FILMART 2006 will be featuring some new pavilions to offer buyers unprecedented opportunities at Asia's top film and entertainment market. A new Film and Broadcasting Equipment Pavilion will feature alongside the Animation/Digital Entertainment Pavilion next year. With a mixture of film, television, digital entertainment, equipment and post-production services, FILMART promises to have something on offer for everyone.

of the confirmed participants of FILMART 2006 include China
Film Promotion International, Unifrance, UK Film Council,
USA's Lions Gate Films, Japan's Kadokawa Pictures and Toei
Co., Korea's CJ Entertainment as well as the Animation Council
of the Philippines.
