The fourth China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy) took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre during 28 ˇV 30 July. With the support of the Hong Kong SAR Government and relevant trade associations, TDC brought nineteen Hong Kong companies to ChinaJoy to showcase the astonishing creativity and the latest developments of the Hong Kong digital entertainment industry. Many HK games were displayed for mainland gamers to try out, and they received a fervent response.
During the event Hong Kongˇ¦s Celestial Digital Entertainment Limited officially announced that it will join forces with Sino IGame to launch its online game, showing yet another example of Hong Kong and Chinese mainland working together to open a new frontier in the market.
Apart from the exhibition, TDC also hosted networking luncheon with the players from Chinese mainland, as well as a series of company visits to allow Hong Kong companies a chance to understand the conditions of the mainland market.

Ning Hao, who won the Focus Award in HAF 2005 with his project "Red Bicycle", has scored an unlikely hit in China with his latest film "Crazy Stone". The film is a part of Focus Filmsˇ¦ "Focus First Cuts", and it has become a surprise box-office hit in Chinaˇ¦s summer box office, earning 7.2million RMB in less than two weeks. Ning Hao has expressed in an interview that HAF has played a big part in getting "Crazy Stone" made, as he believes that HAF has provided filmmakers with an excellent platform to meet financiers, allowing directors the opportunity to present their stories and scripts to film companies. He also acknowledged that Andy Lau took notice of him after watching his film "Mongolian Ping Pong" at HAF and approached him to take part in the "Focus First Cuts".
