The
Indian maritime industry has grown rapidly in the past few decades,
particularly after the liberalisation and globalisation of the
Indian economy that started in 1991. There has been steady expansion
in shipbuilding capacity, port and harbour development and ocean
resources development. INMEX'99 is India's first maritime
exhibition that will highlight the emerging opportunities in
the areas of shipping, shipbuilding and ports and harbours.
The Maritime Exhibition will be held at Panaji, Goa on 6-10
October 1999, with the support of the Ministry of Surface Transport
and State Government of Goa.
